According to the Beaverton Police Department, two Beaverton men confronted a sexual assault suspect after he’d allegedly assaulted a Hillsboro woman on a Beaverton MAX train.Â
In the early morning hours of June 25th, suspect William Wesley Gilchrist, who was allegedly armed with a razor blade, grabbed the woman on the Max platform and assaulted her. The two good samaritans heard her calls for help and ran to her aid, where they confronted the suspect and pulled the woman to safety.
Gilchrist ran from the scene but was later located near the Nike campus and was subsequently apprehended by Beaverton police.
On July 2nd, Gilchrist was indicted on multiple charges of sexual assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
