On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at about 7:00 a.m., Washington County Westside Interagency Narcotics (WIN) investigators simultaneously executed eight search warrants at various locations in Washington, Clackamas, and Multnomah Counties. The warrants were obtained as a result of several months of investigation into a drug trafficking organization (DTO) operating in the metro area.

With the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiation Team (TNT), investigators entered the various locations. They seized $420,761 in cash, 3 pistols, 3 rifles, 2 pounds of heroin, 2 pounds of fentanyl powder, 5 pounds of methamphetamine, 12.7 grams of cocaine, and 11.5 pounds of M30 pills totaling more than 52,000 pills.

One arrest was made as a result of the warrant service, and more arrests are anticipated. Due to the sensitive nature of this ongoing investigation, the arrestees’ names will not be released.

The WIN team is a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force that identifies, disrupts, and dismantles local, multi-state, and international drug trafficking organizations using an intelligence-driven, prosecutor supported approach. The WIN team is supported by the Oregon-Idaho High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), an Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) supported counterdrug grant program coordinating with and providing funding resources to drug enforcement initiatives. The WIN team is comprised of personnel from the Beaverton Police Department, the Hillsboro Police Department, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oregon National Guard Counterdrug Program.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has thanked the following agencies and organizations for their collaboration in this mission: Clackamas County Interagency Task Force (CCITF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Multnomah County Special Investigations Unit (SIU), Oregon State Police (OSP), Portland Police Bureau’s Special Emergency React Team (SERT), and Portland Police Bureau’s Neighborhood Response Team (NRT). TNT is an interagency, highly skilled, and well-equipped tactical unit that responds to extremely hazardous situations where conventional police tactics and equipment may be inadequate. Also known as SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), TNT is made up of Sheriff’s Office deputies and police officers from Hillsboro Police Department, Beaverton Police Department, Tualatin Police Department, and medics from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
