Two people were shot, one fatally, on Southeast Stark Street last Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 3:51p.m., East Precinct and Focused Intervention Team officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 11900 block of Southeast Stark Street. There they located one deceased male with apparent gunshot injury. The victim killed in this shooting is identified as Jeff A. Ramirez, 35, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be gunshot to the torso and ruled the manner of death to be homicide.
Another victim, an adult male, was located near Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 122nd Avenue. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. He is not being identified at this time. The investigation is continuing.
The suspect or suspects left before police were called and no arrests have been made.
