On Friday, December 8, 2023, at 9:07 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on SW River Rd, south of SW Farmington Rd. The driver was traveling at a high speed before losing control on a curve, rolling over, before crashing through a chain link fence.

The driver, 19-year-old Jesse Granados-Villegas, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Two juvenile passengers, who are related to the driver, were also in the car. One is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries at a local hospital, while the other tragically passed away at the scene.

Post-hospitalization, Granados-Villegas was arrested for manslaughter in the second degree, reckless driving, and DUII (marijuana). He was lodged at the Washington County Jail.

The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) is investigating.
