According to the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy located the F-150 in the Tanasbourne area of the city of Hillsboro. The deputy saw the truck driving recklessly by running a red light and driving into oncoming lanes of traffic. The deputy activated their overhead lights and siren to stop the F-150, but the truck continued to accelerate at a high rate of speed in an attempt to elude the deputy, so the deputy did not pursue the F-150.

A short time later, a Hillsboro Police Officer located the driver of the stolen truck entering Highway 26 eastbound from the NE Cornelius Pass Road onramp. Hillsboro officers and Sheriff’s deputies followed the stolen truck at a distance until it exited the highway at NW Barnes Road and went into a parking lot near Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital.

The stolen F-150 exited the parking lot onto NW Barnes Road and hit a Beaverton Police vehicle. The Beaverton Officer in that vehicle stated that he believed the driver of the stolen truck intentionally hit him. The collision caused minor damage to the vehicle. The Beaverton officer was not injured.
