On January 16, at about 3:25am an alert community member alerted the Hillsboro Police Department of a theft at the First Tech Credit Union located at 5860 NE Cornell Road in Hillsboro. Officers responded to the scene and discovered a black 2006 Ford F350 pickup truck with a chain hooked to it which was used to pull out an ATM. The attempted ATM heist resulted in the ATM receiving extensive damage to it in an attempt to gain access to it’s contents.
The vehicle used had been stolen minutes prior to being used to damage the ATM, according to Hillsboro Police Department.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident and examining all of the evidence in an attempt to locate the suspect or suspects responsible for these crimes.
