On Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 3:46p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at a bar in the 800 block of North Lombard Street. There were no reported injuries. While officers were en route, they were provided with a detailed suspect description of the suspect. A Public Safety Support Specialist on patrol saw the suspect driving away and radioed to other units. The Air Support Unit’s airplane followed the suspect vehicle from above. The suspect was observed driving a high rate of speed, weaving through traffic. The suspect parked the car and jumped out near the 200 block of North Hayden Bay Drive. Numerous officers responded to assist, including K9 Unit members. The suspect was tracked to an apartment in the 0 block of North Hayden Bay Drive.

Because the suspect was believed to be armed with a gun, the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) responded to the scene. After numerous attempts to contact the suspect over at least four hours, the suspect surrendered. He had shaved his hair off in an attempt to change his appearance. A gun, which was determined to be a semiautomatic handgun replica, was seized as evidence.

Robbery Detectives responded to the scene and investigated. They connected the suspect to another robbery that was called in June 7 at 2:24p.m. at a coffee bar in the 2000 block of North McClellan Street.

They booked Andrey R. Mazur, 32, in the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Robbery in the Second Degree (2 counts, one for each of the above mentioned robberies). Detectives have connected Mazur to as many as 14 other robberies in Portland going back to May 9, 2022, and further charges are expected.
