On February 14, 2022, at 12:00 a.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to a shooting call near the intersection of Southeast 124th Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard. When officers arrived they located a male victim who was shot.
Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died.Â
The victim was identified as 39-year-old Andre Charles Ethel. His family has been notified of his death and they provided the attached photograph for public release. The family is requesting privacy at this time.Â
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office has determined manner and cause of death to be homicide by gunshot wound.Â
Additional information will be released at the direction of investigators.Â
