An arson investigation is underway following a series of fires on a city-owned property in the St. Johns Neighborhood.

On Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 3:22 a.m., Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) responded to reports of a fire on a city-owned property in the 10000 block of North Portland Road. Firefighters extinguished the flames, but not before they caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to a forklift, excavator, and bulldozer.

Information gathered at the scene suggested the fires that damaged the equipment were intentionally set. PF&R’s Fire Investigations Unit is investigating. The Portland Police Bureau is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect as shown below.
