On Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 9:02 p.m., officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to a report of an accident at Northeast Jonesmore Street and Northeast 82nd Avenue involving a MAX train and a pedestrian.
Upon their arrival, officers found the pedestrian to be severely injured. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Portland Police Major Crash Team responded to investigate. During the investigation, the MAX light rail station at Northeast Jonesmore Street and Northeast 82nd Avenue was closed.
