A group of armed suspects ran into a section of the Roseway Neighborhood, prompting a callout by the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT). Tactical teams have completed their search in the Roseway Neighborhood and streets are being cleared. Multiple juveniles were detained related to a robbery investigation.

On Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 1:44a.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery in the 5200 block of Northeast Alberta Street. Multiple pedestrians were robbed at gunpoint. No one reported being injured.

The suspects left the area in a vehicle. North officers searching for the suspects located the vehicle leaving the area and attempted to stop it. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and officers initiated a pursuit at 1:48a.m. Attempts were made to deploy pursuit intervention techniques to stop the vehicle. At 1:53a.m., the vehicle stopped at Northeast 78th Avenue and Northeast Fremont Street and several occupants jumped from the car and ran. Officers quickly set up a perimeter, containing the suspects within an 8 block area. East and Central Precinct officers also responded to assist.

Because the suspects were believed to be armed, SERT and CNT were called out. Perimeter units were able to detain some suspects, and SERT and K9 units located and detained others hiding in the perimeter. The number detained is not being released at this time, but all are believed to be juveniles.

The search was completed and streets were reopened at 5:48a.m. The Major Crimes Unit responded and detectives are investigating.
