On Friday, December 9, 2022 at 3:16 p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a person found deceased in Powell Butte Nature Park, 16160 Southeast Powell Boulevard. When officers arrived they located a deceased person. Due to suspicious circumstances, Portland Police Homicide Unit Detectives responded to the scene to investigate.
The suspicious death associated with the body found on December 9, 2022, at the Powell Butte Nature Park is now being investigated as a homicide. The Medical Examiner determined the manner and cause of death to be homicide by homicidal violence.
The victim is identified as 27-year-old Kathryn Muhlbach. Ms. Muhlbach’s family provided the attached photograph for public release.
