The max line was closed near SE 10th Ave. and SE Washington St. for the investigation of a critical incident near the north end of the Hillsboro Police Department. According to civilian witnesses, at 1:00 pm on August 19, a Hillsboro Officer was attacked near his patrol vehicle and an officer involved shooting occurred. Washington County’s Major Crime Team is investigating this incident.
SE Washington St. was closed for several hours between SE 10th Ave. and SE 12th Ave. while the investigation was conducted. MAX Light rail service was interrupted west of SE 12th St.Â
SE Washington St. has been fully reopened between SE 10th Ave and SE 12th Ave.
Tri-Met MAX has been advised normal service may resume.
There is NO active threat to the public and NO outstanding suspects related to this incident.
The Washington County Major Crimes Team was called to the scene to investigate the incident. The team is made up of detectives from law enforcement agencies throughout the county and is coordinated by the Washington County District Attorney’s Office. The team responds to major crimes that occur in Washington County.
