On July 30, 2024, around 9:40 PM, Hillsboro Police Officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of NE John Olsen Ave, and NE Von Neumann Dr. Officers found one adult male suffering from gunshot wounds and rendered aid until paramedics arrived. The male was transported to an area hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

At approximately 6:30 PM on August 1, 2024, members of the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team (TNT) arrested the gunman, 33-year-old David Nicholas Artmeladze, for attempted murder, assault in the first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon.

This arrest occurred in the parking lot of 11095 NE Evergreen Parkway. Distractionary devices, which create temporary incapacitation of the offender due to light and sound emitted, were used during this arrest. Some members of the community likely noticed sounds of explosions when this occurred. Artmeladze was later booked into the Washington County Jail.

At approximately 10:00 PM on August 1, 2024, a search warrant was served on Artmeladze’s house in the area of SW 175th Ave and SW Marty Lane in Aloha.
