On Sunday, September 4, 2022, just before 8:00 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a burglary call at a coffee shop near NW Cornell Road and NW Saltzman Road in the community of Bethany. When deputies arrived, they learned someone had forced their way into the building early that morning and taken clothing and a safe. The safe, which was bolted down, contained more than $1,500.

With assistance from nearby businesses, deputies accessed surveillance footage of the incident. Upon review of the footage, they saw three individuals enter the building at about 2:30 a.m. When they left the building, they placed various items into a Subaru Forrester and drove away. Though the footage was insufficient to initially identify the suspects, deputies were able to connect the group to several other similar occurrences in the area.

One of the suspects seen in surveillance footage at another incident was identified as 37-year-old Christina Lynn Cordon. After extensive investigation, detectives connected Cordon to numerous crimes at other commercial locations where they took cash and other items of value. Cordon was seen with additional accomplices, but their identities remain unknown.

On October 21, 2022, a Grand Jury of Washington County indicted Christina Lynn Cordon on the following crimes which took place between August 14, 2022, and October 5, 2022:

  • Criminal mischief in the first degree
  • Criminal mischief in the second degree
  • Burglary
  • Attempt to elude a police officer
  • Reckless driving
  • Recklessly endangering another person
  • Theft in the first degree
  • Theft in the second degree

Cordon is currently in custody at the Clackamas County Jail facing charges for unrelated crimes. Once their Clackamas County case is complete, Cordon will be transported to the Washington County Jail.
