Today, members of the Hillsboro Police Department’s Detective Division arrested Matthew Knorr, age 46, on 3 counts of sex abuse in the first degree. Knorr is a resident of Hillsboro. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail, where he remains in custody on bail set at $750,000.00.

The charges stem from incidents that occurred during Knorr’s employment as a teacher for the Beaverton Academy of Science and Engineering (BASE), a Beaverton District School located at 10740 NE Walker Road, Hillsboro OR, 97006. Knorr has not taught at the school since November 2021.

Detective Megan Linn of the Hillsboro Police Department, who works on-site at BASE full-time as a Youth Services Detective/School Resource Officer, is conducting this investigation. Detective Linn is available to both students and parents and can be reached by email at megan.linn@hillsboro-oregon.gov  or by calling (503) 681-2336.
