A fire consumed a home in Beaverton’s Cooper Mountain neighborhood on Tuesday.
When Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVFR) arrived at the home, located in the 16700 block of SW Spellman Drive in Beaverton, firefighters discovered fire breaking through the roof.
The home partially collapsed as additional firefighters were arriving on the scene. For 45 minutes, firefighters defensively battled the blaze, managing to contain the fire and ensuring that it wouldn’t spread to neighboring homes. About 40 firefighters assisted in extinguishing the flames.
The home, which had been listed for sale, was empty and unoccupied. While nobody was inside the home at the time of the fire, the structure itself is considered to be a total loss.
TVFR is still investigating how the fire started.
