On 4/8/24 at 4:29 PM, Hillsboro Police officers responded to an injury crash on NE Cornell Rd. NE Cornell Road will be closed for several hours due to the injury crash that affected a number of power poles and power lines. The crash involved two vehicles and one driver was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital for treatment.
Occupants of two unrelated vehicles to the crash were confined on NE Cornell Road in between downed power poles. The occupants remained in their vehicles until PGE and Hillsboro Fire crews arrived to ensure the occupants could exit their car safely. Washington County’s Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is responding to investigate the crash.
The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) investigates and reconstructs traffic crashes that may result in the prosecution of felony Assault or Manslaughter charges. These crashes often involve an impaired driver involved in a serious injury or fatal crash.
CART is a multi-agency team of specially trained law enforcement officers from the Sheriff’s Office and the Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, King City, and Tualatin Police Departments. The Washington County District Attorney’s Office also has assigned Deputy District Attorneys to the team.
