On June 27, 2023, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Eric Butterfield found Aubrey Ryan Quinn-Ward, age 26, guilty of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First Degree following a bench trial. Deputy District Attorney Conor Jones prosecuted the case against the Defendant.

On September 2, 2022, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a child predator sting aimed at identifying individuals willing to engage in sexual activity with children. Undercover detectives posed as teenage boys and girls on social media platforms associated with child sexual abuse. The detectives posed as 15-year-olds and directed interested suspects to a location in Beaverton, Oregon where they would meet the purported child.

The defendant communicated with a detective claiming to be a 15-year-old girl. He offered to have sex with the girl. He told her he would bring alcohol and condoms. The defendant then arrived at the agreed-upon location and was arrested without incident.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 17, 2023. The defendant will remain in custody until that time.
