A man who shot someone while driving on I-205 has been found and charged with Attempted Murder.

On September 1, 2022, just after 9:00 a.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to the area of Northeast 94th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street on the reports of a shooting. A cab driver was on the phone with 911 as he continued to drive himself to Providence Medical Center. Officers flooded the area in search of the shooting scene, while others drove to Providence to assist the victim.

Fortunately, the cab driver was able to provide a license plate number a vehicle description. After not finding a shooting scene in the area of Northeast 94th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street, officers began searching in a more expanded area. The cab driver confirmed the shooting actually occurred on southbound I-205 before the Glisan Street exit, and that the suspect vehicle also took the Glisan Street Exit.

The cab driver was stabilized at Providence, then transferred by ambulance to the nearest level 1 trauma hospital. Officers on scene at Providence confirmed there were visible bullet holes in the victim’s car.

At 9:29 a.m., one of the officers searching for the suspect vehicle located it in the area of Southeast 77th Avenue and Southeast Foster Road. The car was unoccupied. Several more officers converged on the area, and they developed information leading them to believe the suspect was in a nearby business. A perimeter was established and a K9 Unit responded to assist with the search.

At 10:05 a.m., the shooting suspect was located and taken into custody. Investigators with Portland’s Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded and assumed control. After an intensive investigation, 47-year-old Bradley Dylan Stanwood was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on the charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

After receiving medical care, the victim was released from the hospital and is recovering.
