Despite loss, Sibayan gains more votes than opponent

Sibayan made a strong comeback in the runoff election, especially when compared to the election in May.

Ashley Hartmeier-Prigg is the apparent winner of yesterday’s tightly contested runoff election for Beaverton City Council (Position 1). The election results show Hartmeier-Prigg narrowly beating Sibayan by 256 votes (1.83%).

Despite Hartmeier-Prigg’s apparent win, Sibayan made a strong comeback when compared to the election results in May.

In yesterday’s runoff election, Hartmeier-Prigg received 487 more votes than she had received in the May election. Whereas, Sibayan gained 1,644 votes during the runoff election, closing the gap between himself and Hartmeier-Prigg from 1,413 votes in May, down to just 256 votes in September.
