On August 1, 2024, Jonathan Ross Baker was sentenced to 25 months in prison by Senior Judge DeAnn Novotny after he was convicted of two counts of assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence and one count of harassment. Deputy District Attorney Mackenna Krohn prosecuted the case against the defendant.

On February 6, 2024, the defendant attacked the victim. The assault was witnessed by a child who called a family member for help. Washington County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. The defendant hid in his apartment in an attempt to elude deputies. A K-9 was deployed and tracked the defendant to a back room where he was arrested.

In a press release, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office commended the victim in this case for the bravery shown throughout the legal process. This office also acknowledged the work of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Mr. Baker will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
