The Final Report for the City of Tualatin’s transportation bond program is now available online in English and Spanish at TualatinMovingForward.com. Copies are also being mailed to every home and business citywide.
In May 2018, Tualatin voters approved a $20 million bond program to fund projects that relieve congestion, improve neighborhood traffic safety and provide safe access to schools and parks. Now, all 36 projects are complete – on-time – in just five years, and on-budget!
The “Final Five” projects finished in 2023 include these locations:
Tualatin-Sherwood Road: Martinazzi Avenue to I-5/Nyberg Street: Tualatin’s busiest intersection has been redesigned to improve safety, reduce travel times, and make traveling through this area more predictable.
Boones Ferry Corridor Sidewalk and Bike Lane: The program’s biggest investment completes missing segments of bike lanes and sidewalks along this heavily traveled route, from Tualatin-Sherwood Road to Norwood Road.
Highway 99: Pony Ridge Neighborhood to 124th Avenue: This project closes sidewalk gaps along the northwest side of Highway 99W and provides safe connections to transit stops and marked crosswalks.
67th/68th Avenues Loop at Stoneridge Park: A project suggested by community members to improve roadway safety by adding crosswalks, upgrading curb ramps, and improving sidewalks and street lighting.
Sagert Street Bridge/I-5 Walkway: This project improves safety for people walking and cycling across the Sagert Street bridge that connects Tualatin’s east and west sides.
The Final Report includes an updated map that shows the Tualatin Moving Forward program’s progress across the city. A Report Card gives an update on program dollars spent project-by-project.
A message from City Manager Sherilyn Lombos and City Engineer Mike McCarthy, PE sums up Tualatin’s achievement: “Voters can take pride in what’s been accomplished.
