On Sunday, October 8th, 2023, just after 7:30 pm, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a stabbing incident at the Gyro House on 530 SW 205th Avenue in Aloha. The victim, identified as an employee of the restaurant, was stabbed after a verbal altercation with the suspect. The suspect then fled the scene before the arrival of the deputies.

When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect had stolen a food order that belonged to another patron. When confronted by restaurant employees, the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife several times and threatened to stab another employee. Deputies quickly identified the suspect as 36-year-old Samuel Eigal Pacheco III.

The victim was transported to a local trauma hospital, where they were treated and released.

At approximately 1:00 am on the morning of October 9th, deputies learned Pacheco was at their residence located in the city of Cornelius.

Deputies and members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiation Team, Crisis Negotiation Unit, Remotely Operated Vehicle Team, and others responded to the home. Pacheco, who was on the second floor of the house, refused to cooperate with deputies. A canine unit was then used to search the second floor and apprehend Pacheco. After being taken into custody, Pacheco was treated for minor injuries he sustained from a K9 bite. He was then lodged in the Washington County Jail on charges of attempted murder in the second degree, robbery in the first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon. Additional charges are likely.
