On Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 7:22 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an injury crash on SW Barnes Road, near St. Vincent’s Hospital. When deputies arrived, they found 72-year-old Diana Petty lying in the road with critical injuries and discovered the car that hit her had left the scene.

A nurse from St. Vincent’s Hospital was already providing aid to Petty, who was later rushed to a nearby trauma hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) responded to the scene to conduct the criminal investigation.

From the preliminary information available, deputies believe the driver of a 2015 Subaru Legacy ran a red light and hit Petty as she crossed SW Barnes Road in a crosswalk. Investigators located the Subaru this morning parked in a neighborhood near the crash.

On July 8, 2022, just before 5 p.m., detectives assigned to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit and Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) found and arrested 34-year-old Tyler W. Fetterhoff in Beaverton. They charged Fetterhoff with assault in the second degree, felony failure to perform the duties of a driver (hit and run causing injury), and reckless driving. Diana Petty, the victim of the crash, remains in critical condition.

The Sheriff’s Office is still asking anyone who has information about Fetterhoff or this crash to call (503) 629-0111.
