A man is facing felony criminal charges after threatening two Portland Water Bureau employees with a pitchfork and then burglarizing an office building.
On Friday, July 1, 2022 at 2:43p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1900 block of North Interstate Avenue. A man was reportedly breaking windows and threatening people with a pitchfork.
When officers arrived, they learned the suspect used the pitchfork to break into the office building. Officers surrounded the building, then searched it with a K9 unit. The suspect was located and arrested. Officers documented damage caused within the building by the suspect, including broken windows, ransacked offices, and a broken ceiling. A pitchfork was discovered in the ceiling and seized as evidence. Two Water Bureau vehicles were damaged (broken windshields).
Due to a medical condition unrelated to the incident, the suspect was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Kevin L. Bailey, 50, was criminally cited for Burglary in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Menacing (2 counts), Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. He was given a future court date.
