ONE PERSON KILLED IN SHOOTING AT PARTY in CORNELIUS OREGON- DETECTIVES SEEKING TIPS-2

On Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 2:17 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies serving the City of Cornelius responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 300-block of S. 8th Avenue. Several people called 911 to report that someone fired a gun at a party, and someone was shot. When deputies arrived on scene, they found 20-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Sanchez with severe injuries. Bystanders, as well as deputies and Forest Grove Police officers attempted life saving measures, but Rodriguez-Sanchez died at the scene. 

Investigators believe that there were many partygoers who left prior to police arriving and would like to speak to anyone who was at a party in the area on the night of Saturday February 5th or the early morning of Sunday February 6th. Please call 503-846-2500 if you have any information. 

Cornelius Homicide

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. It is believed this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

Detectives from the Washington County Major Crimes Team (MCT) and the Violent Crimes Unit responded to investigate. The Forensic Service Unit (FSU) processed the scene. 

Rodriguez-Sanchez’s family was notified of his death and provided the attached photo.
