A proactive shoplifting enforcement led to the arrests of eight people in Tigard recently.

On Friday, August 4th, Tigard Police detectives partnered with loss prevention employees at the Fred Meyer store on SW Pacific Highway & SW 72nd Avenue to proactively watch for people engaged in shoplifting or other criminal activity.

Over the course of the 7-hour enforcement, the following people were charged:

  1. Leon Lincoln, age 54, theft II
  2. Douglas Harer, age 31, theft III, felony warrant 
  3. Chad Hodges, age 44, theft III
  4. Benjamin Copsey, age 34, theft I, possession of burglary tools
  5. Ian Dobrenen, age 35, theft III
  6. Mario Guaderrama II, age 28, theft II
  7. Jaiden Barbee, age 22, theft II
  8. Shane Ohm, age 39, theft III

The Tigard Police Department’s Commercial Crimes Unit conducts enforcements like this at retail stores and shopping centers throughout the City of Tigard on a regular basis. The goal is to deter criminal activity by showing that officers are taking proactive measures to keep our community safe.
