A proactive shoplifting enforcement led to the arrests of thirteen people in Tigard recently.
On Friday, August 18th, Tigard Police detectives partnered with loss prevention employees at several major retail stores in Tigard to proactively watch for people engaged in shoplifting or other criminal activity. In addition to stolen goods, officers also recovered a handgun and extended magazine during one arrest.
Over the course of the 8-hour enforcement, the following people were charged:
1. Adrian Mosley, age 18, theft III – shoplift, unlawful possession of a firearm
2. Yendora Young, age 18, theft III – shoplift
3. Maritza Valencia, age 20, theft II – shoplift
4. Suliaman Abdul-Hadi, age 22, theft III – shoplift
5. Kayla Zagone, age 29, theft II – shoplift, criminal mischief III
6. Maritza Zaragosa, age 30, theft II – shoplift
7. Seth Allen, age 30, theft II – shoplift
8. Mario Carillo, age 43, criminal trespass
9. Steven Killduff, age 45, theft III – shoplift
10. Tonia Osuna, age 52, theft III – shoplift
11. A 16-year-old girl, theft III – shoplift
12. A 17-year-old boy, theft II – shoplift
13. A 17-year-old boy, theft II – shoplift
The Tigard Police Department’s Commercial Crimes Unit conducts enforcement like this at retail stores and shopping centers throughout the City of Tigard on a regular basis. The goal is to deter criminal activity by showing that officers are taking proactive measures to keep our community safe.
